Raina, Gambhir star in India's seven-wicket win

Suresh Raina's midas touch in the Asia Cup continued as a breathtaking 116 not out by the southpaw saw India chase down the 284-run target against Bangladesh in 43.2 overs with seven wickets in hand. Gautam Gambhir also came up with a masterful 90 to power the Indian run-chase in the first Super Four clash of the Asia Cup on Saturday.

Kapali along with Mahmudullah (26 not out) added 112 runs for the sixth wicket, bailing Bangladesh out from a precarious situation after Mohammad Ashraful elected to bat.

Kapali who came to the middle in the 24th over produced a gem of an innings, giving Bangladesh the much needed momentum. It was prototype of a perfect one-day knock, quick running doubled with lusty hits. The dynamic batsman cleared the boundary at will, smashing Yusuf Pathan for two sixes in an over and then picking Gony over the cover boundary. Falling on the penultimate ball of the innings, Kapali hit five sixes and ten boundaries in his knock.

Manpreet Gony was taken for 65 runs in his eight overs while RP Singh (1-65) after a decent initial spell took some heavy punishment in his final overs.

Tamim Iqbal took Bangladesh off to a confident start but he received little support from the other end. The top-order including Ashraful threw away their wickets with India tightening the grip after Bangladesh were scoring at five-runs-an-over. Iqbal departed for a brisk 55 which included seven boundaries.

Ojha's introduction changed the complexion of the game as the spinner's control perplexed the Bangladesh batsmen. Both Raquibul Hassan (25) and Mushfiqur Rahim (22) fell victims to Ojha's guile. The left-arm spinner returned with impressive figures of 2-43.
