Jacob Oram returned a match-winning figure of 3 for 32 in Chennai Super Kings' nine-wicket triumph over Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday but the all-rounder said he would have to perform consistently to help his side win more matches in the IPL.
Oram was pleased with his three-wicket haul tonight, but felt he needed to bowl even better to help his side win as many matches as possible.
"In the two previous games, I bowled too short and wide. Today's performance was better, so overall I am not very happy although I managed to get a few wickets today," said Oram, who was adjudged the man of the match.
The Kiwi said he did not have any specific plans to bowl to his countrymate and explosive opener Brendon McCullum who failed to play a big innings though scoring a quick-fire 24 from just 12 balls.
"I kept the ball tight and did not give him the width," said Oram.
